I've edited this file:
/etc/mysql/my.cnf
and added this:
[mysqld] performance_schema=ON performance-schema-instrument='statement/%=ON' performance-schema-consumer-statements-digest=ON innodb_monitor_enable=all
restarted the service
service mysqld restart
